Christmas lunches for the Golden Oldies…Nominations now open!

Christmas lunches for the Golden Oldies…Nominations now open!

Christmas is coming and we will be spreading more kindness and goodwill throughout the Kirkstall community…this time on a plate in the form of turkey (or veggie alternative), spuds and sprouts!

Last year we delivered hundreds of Christmas lunches to elderly people in Kirkstall. This year, together with our partners: CEG Kirkstall Forge, Hawksworth Older People’s Support Services (HOPS), Hawksworth Wood, Abbeydales & Vesper areas (HAVA), St Mary’s Church and the Hookers and Clickers, we want to do the same!

We will be delivering* lunches on Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th December. If you would like to receive or know an elderly person that would appreciate a Kirkstall Christmas lunch, please submit your nomination!

How to nominate: Submit your nomination to christmas.dinner@kvdt.org.uk stating the name, address and any dietary requirements of your Golden Oldie by Friday 3rd December 2021.

Can you help? We are seeking volunteers to help support this activity with food preparation and delivery. If you would like to get involved, please contact Elizabeth Hayes, KVDT Volunteer Coordinator, at elizabeth.hayes@kvdt.org.uk.

The event is a collaboration between KVDT, CEG Kirkstall Forge, Hawksworth Older People’s Support Services (HOPS), Hawksworth Wood, Abbeydales & Vesper areas (HAVA), St Mary’s Church and the Hookers and Clickers.

*Deliveries can only be made to people within the Kirkstall ward.
